Serving the Community with the love of Christ

Now the building work has been completed we look forward to serving the community in more and more ways with the love of Christ.

The foodbank was able to continue on Tuesdays throughout the building work but we are now glad to be able to offer a more peaceful setting to serve, offering tea, coffee and prayer in a cafe style surrounding while people wait on their food parcels being made up. Now working from the basement of the church where we have kitchen facilities we also offer a hot 'dish of the day' much appreciated by those who have traveled on foot sometimes quite large distances across the city.

Abc, our parents and toddlers group, which had to move out the building while the work took place have now returned with a new day of Friday and this continues to be a blessing to the young mums in the area surrounding the church with one of them now committed to joining the team running the group.

The local Guides, Brownies and Rainbows have now returned to using the basement, a far better facility than our upstairs worship space for such a group.

A new group has started on a Monday and Thursday run by Janek. It is a health and fitness class for families and is slowly making an impact with children and parents and single adults joining in the various circuit training exercises using everything from a JCB tyre to Sledge Hammers as well as all the usual (and not so usual) equipment overseen by trained instructor Janek.

We have also started a Thrift Shop on Mondays and Saturdays supplying good quality clothes and second hand furniture at reasonable prices to the surrounding community and refugees.

On a Sunday evening we have a group called Sunday @ 6, a time of Bible Study, prayer, support  and fellowship. Run by lay members of the church it is attended by a mix of Christians and people with no other Church connections in an informal setting with a monthly fellowship meal and Communion, presided over by an invited priest.

On Thursdays we meet for an informal Bible Study based on whatever anyone wants to bring followed by a time of Prayer.

Wednesday evenings has seen the start of a group for years 5, 6 and 7. Which is exciting to see the church being used once again for youth work as we look to grow this ministry working together with other churches in the area.
