T his Sunday we welcome Rev Fran Myatt currently the Vicar of St John the Evangelist Church, Walton-on-the Hill, where he has been since 2014. Fran is well known to some of our current congregation. (and even related to some.)

Sunday @ 6 - Christianity Explored

Our Sunday @ 6 group is starting the Christianity Explored course on Sunday 2nd June for seven weeks. All are welcome to join us as we explore what life is all about and if Christianity is relevant today.

Foodbank 2018/19

In the year ending March 31st 2019, South Liverpool Foodbank (of which we are a part of here at St Gabriels) fed over 11,00 people and gave out over 85 tons of food. A big thank you to all who contribute food, money and time to ensure that we are able to operate. God bless.

This Sunday we welcome back Rev Bill Sanders – Bill was the Vicar of Wavertree St Bridget and St Thomas before retiring in 2018, and is still currently working as a Chaplain with Merseyside  Fire & Rescue  Service.

Sunday 19th May 6.00pm - The Rule of Life.

https://www.ruleoflife.org.uk/ On Sunday @ 6 on the 19th May we will be looking at the Liverpool Dioceses "Rule of Life" he Rule of Life is based around six words. We are Called to Pray, Read and Learn and  The  Rule of Life  is based around six words.  We are Called to Pray, Read and Learn and sent to Tell, Serve and Give. Join us as we look at each 'Rule of Life' and see how we can grow in our Discipleship in Christ our Fellowship with each other and our Witness to those around us. ALL ARE ell, Serve and Give.

This week we are joined by Rev Ian Bishop who will be bringing the word and presiding over Holy Communion.  As Trustee of Simeons Trust Ian was involved in the selection process of our new vicar as our patron. In is also the Archdeacon of Macclesfield -                                      The Venerable Ian Bishop I became the Archdeacon of Macclesfield in January 2011. I am a Westcountryman and was born and brought up in Devizes and worked as a chartered surveyor before ordination. I am married to Sue, a personnel manager, and have three sons, Joe, Dan and Will. We live in Congleton. I was ordained as a deacon in 1991 and priested the following year. I was Rector of Middlewich and Byley and Rural Dean of Middlewich before being appointed Archdeacon.

This Sunday our guest speaker is Rev Ossie Post.   Rev Ossie Post writes - I have happy memories of St Gabriel’s during the time my Father was Vicar, 1956-1959, and the family friendship for many years after that with the late Tom and Flo Knox, who were much involved in the Church. I also visited St Philemon’s on a number of occasions during Colin Bedford’s time when I worked with the Ruanda Mission. I am now the Ambassador for African Enterprise UK which supports the African Enterprise Teams in their ministry of evangelising the cities of Africa through word and deed in partnership with the Church. Our teams reached over 1.3 million people with the Gospel in 2018.

Saturday 4th May - 1000am church cleaning

After the Prayer Walk why not join us at St Gabriel's to clean up for Sunday. During the building work this is even more necessary and the more who turn up the quicker it will be done. Be a blessing.

Saturday 4th May - L8 Neighbourhood Prayer Walk

Come and join us this Saturday as we prayer walk around     the Dingle. What is prayer walk - a group of us walk around the area stopping to pray as we feel lead and engaging people we meet.
