St Gabriel's Church

There have been questions elsewhere about what is happening. It has now been 3 years since the last service at Gabbies, the church has remained closed all this time. To date the diocese has not started a consultation on closure, so there has not been an official opportunity to object to its closure.  More or less the powers to be will not consider a complaint that it is closed until there has been an official closure request. As there has not been an official closure request it is officially open, therefore they will not consider a complaint that the parish church is closed. Instead saying that only at that point can we complain about any failure of process. As of November 2022, Gabbies is 'temporarily' closed, there at time of writing no activities in the building and no date for reopening. Services have been moved to the other church in the Parish, St. Cleopas, where there are still great things happening. Please assume that all activities mentioned on this website are closed until further notice. What is a Food Pantry? Food Pantrys are open to everyone and cost £3.50 per week and you get to choose your own shop. Items include fresh meat, fresh vegetables, groceries and toiletries, with special offers when stock allows. Registration is free just come along any Thursday.
