click on read more to watch and listen to sermon Hello, It is not deliberate, of course, but there is a slightly Welsh flavour to today's service. As well as Dean Sue's Welsh lilt, most of you will know our third hymn, and I have found a beautiful poem by R.S. Thomas, which was inspired by today's Gospel reading As always, I hope you are well. Please let me know if you would like prayer for anything.  Love and God bless, Sian

Sunday 19th July 2020 Sixth Sunday after Trinity

Sian here! For the next few weeks, there will be a slight difference to our regular service, in that the sermon will be written and delivered by someone different each time. This week, it is the turn of the Bishop of Liverpool, Paul Bayes, no less. Now, just to clarify, we had already recorded our Bible readings before we knew about this, so Bishop Paul has based his sermon on our Gospel reading from Matthew 13 (Parable of the Weeds) and Romans 8:12-25. Here is the service and sermon:  click on read more to view and hear video

to watch and hear the sermon click on read more Hello again, I know we're all getting a bit confused about what day of the week it is, but the weather has made me forget that we're actually in July. Hopefully, we'll get some sun again soon. Once again, the service/sermon and hymns are coming as separate links. Hymns: 1. Come, Now is the Time to Worship https://youtu.be/USQn4IUmS20 2. Great Big God https://youtu.be/eSTfM8M2Md8 3. How Great is our God/ How Great Thou Art https://youtu.be/WGrOlRO8oqs Parable of the Sower/Farmer cartoon https://youtu.be/IZEO_Ls2ERs Service/sermon: https://youtu.be/W5A9BEBzSX8 For some unknown reason, the service video seems to open in quite a small window. The sound is fine, but if you want to see it well, you might need to go to full screen. Please don't forget that the service is available over the telephone for anyone who doesn't have internet access, or would prefer to listen rather than watch, so please share this number with a nei...

(To hear the service click on read more) We are easing out of lockdown but we're not quite ready to meet for Sunday Worship yet, as the procedure is so complicated. However, people have been coming to both Gabbie's and Cleo's for private prayer sessions, so we will continue with them, and Sunday@6 are meeting tomorrow evening (5th July). Even when we get back into our buildings for Sunday services, we will continue a mixture of e-mails, WhatsApp and local telephone lines to share the service, as I'm sure not everyone will be up to coming back at the same time. It's been lovely to catch up with a few of you recently, please keep in touch and let me know if you have any prayer requests. God bless. With love, Sian

Prayer Times at Gabbies, Monday 29th June onwards and other things in church.

Gabbies set out for Social Distance Update 11Aug. In a change, current regulations are that face masks should be worn in church by those over 11, there are some exceptions, such as leading a service communion etc and in particular those unable to wear facemasks similar to shops. General Ordinary Sunday services have not yet restarted at Gabbies and Cleos. As ever you can talk to God anytime, He is only a prayer away. As of week commencing 29th June there are some opportunities to pray at St. Gabriel's or St. Cleopas. Both churches have been laid out to be as secure as we can and we are restricted in what we can do of course. Gabbies will be open for private prayer. Tuesday 7pm to 8pm Thursday 2pm to 3pm Cleos will be open for private prayer. Thursday 7pm to 8pm Friday 2pm to 3pm There is no-one leading, but you can sit, pray quietly as you wish. At Gabbies, there will be some prayers on a screen at the front, but you can ignore these if you wish you can light a candle and stay for ...

(To watch the video click on read more) Hello, We've done something slightly different this week, as you will discover if you watch the YouTube service/sermon video. I'm afraid the sound isn't great on the first hymn, so I will include a YouTube link for the music, too. I hope this helps to lead you in worship. Again, I hope you're all well. We should be opening church buildings for private prayer this week:  Gabbie's - Tuesday, 7pm and Thursday, 2pm. Cleo's - Thursday 7pm, Friday, 2pm. Please join us if you can and follow all the social distancing instructions around the place! With love, Sian

A thank you to the Rotary Club!!!! We would like to thank the local Rotary Club for a generous cash donation which will help us continue and improve the service we give from St Gabriel's. Just a reminder that the foodbank is open every Tuesday in St Gabriel's from 1 - 3pm, if for any reason you are struggling to put food on your table come along and receive some freely given help. We are able to continue to help people in the community due to the continued generous support of others in the community. Our love and prayers to all. The Foodbank Team. May God bless you all.
